Mock Interview Week
Mock Interviewers help prepare college students for one of the most daunting and critical steps in launching their career: the interview. Mock Interviewers are volunteers who simulate the internship interview process for our alumni and provide feedback. Volunteers can commit to just one hour of time, but alumni feel their impact for the rest of their careers.
The Mock Interview comes halfway through the Summer Internship Program application & hiring process. At this stage, alumni have built a solid foundation of career skills—resume and cover letter writing. Now, they need the chance to build skills and confidence in the interview process. Mock interviews also tend to be a great networking opportunity for alumni and volunteers alike—this is a moment for alumni to connect with working professionals, and for volunteers to meet the next generation of leaders.
Mock Interview Week

- Introduction of the event & participants
- First breakout: Basic interview questions
- All group: Explain STAR Method
- Second breakout: Situational interview questions
- All group: Feedback from students and volunteers / Q&A / Wrap-up
Mock Interviewer Role
Who You Are
You’re thoughtful and passionate about helping develop the next generation of leaders. You’re eager to help our alumni move from college to strong economic opportunities.
What You'll Do
Mock interviewers have the opportunity to work closely with a single alumni for two rounds of a simulated interview process. During each 15-minute interview, you’ll offer alumni coaching and feedback on their approach. At the end of the event, everyone will gather for a short close out and Q&A.
Time Commitment
We request Mock Interviewers take 10-15 minutes to read the Mock Interview Guide in advance of the virtual one-hour session of mock interviews. Volunteers can sign up for as many mock interviews as they’d like!
Training & Interview Resources
Mock Interviewers receive everything they need to offer a strong experience for alumni. A Mock Interview Guide will be sent prior to the Mock Interview Week.
