Bush Charles Helzberg Study Abroad Scholarship
Scholarship Overview
Bush Charles Helzberg believed, championed, and invested in study abroad programs. This scholarship serves to honor and expand Bush’s legacy by empowering UA alumni currently in college to study abroad. UA alumni planning to study abroad while in college may apply for funds to cover out-of-pocket costs related to an eligible study abroad program. Each applicant will submit a budget and awards will be based on unmet need up to $3000.

Requirements
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
- Graduated high school from University Academy
- Current full-time college student
- Cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or above
- In good standing with UA Foundation and current college (no holds or debts)
STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Offered through accredited college or university
- Must have a learning or service component preference is given to programs that include college credit
Application & Selection Process
APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
- Apply and be accepted to an approved study abroad program
- Apply for any aid/scholarships available through the school or program in addition to the BCHS
- Complete the BCHS application including essay questions, program details and budget
- After the full application has been completed an interview will be scheduled with the BCHS alumni advisory group and key UA staff
- Applications are accepted on a rolling first-come-first-served basis with the fiscal year running from July 1st – June 30th.
- We recommend applying at least 3 months prior to travel and require at least 3 weeks
- Students will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Student academic performance
- Student application and essays
- Program quality, fit, and cost
- Demonstrated need
